EAS CONGRESS 2021: A VIRTUAL CONGRESS
In light of the continuing COVID-19 pandemic and its likely impact on travel restrictions and physical distancing requirements well into 2021, the European Atherosclerosis Society (EAS) and the Finnish Atherosclerosis Society have decided to transform the 89th EAS Congress into an innovative virtual congress with additional live streaming from Helsinki. The transformation to a virtual experience will allow us to unlock new opportunities together and make the congress even more accessible to a worldwide audience.
The virtual EAS Congress 2021 will take place as planned between May 30 – June 02, 2021.
Many of you joined us for our first virtual congress in October 2020, and our Congress Committee will once again adapt the participant experience to the online world in order to offer our community the possibility for educational exchanges, scientific news and clinical guidelines, while protecting the safety and well-being of all participants.
During the meeting we will explore the latest developments in research into the causes of atherosclerosis and related vascular disease, and how these may affect the clinical guidelines for diagnosis and treatment. One of the features of EAS Congress is the high-level interdisciplinary exchange between clinicians and basic researchers. With many world-leading experts already confirmed, the EAS 2021 scientific programme will offer a bench-to-bedside overview of the latest current research in the field – including the award-winning Anitschkow Lecture, outstanding Keynote Lectures, state-of-the-art Plenary Sessions, and focused Workshops and Advance Clinical Seminars. We firmly believe that presenting and discussing one’s work with others and sparking ideas from others’ work is the key to progress in science. We encourage you to join us – to ask questions and share ideas during the Science at a Glance and Poster Sessions.
EAS supports young scientists in progressing their careers through Young Investigator Fellowships. This important initiative offers early-career scientists the opportunity to take part in the Congress, to learn through presenting their own research, attending the scientific programme, and getting to know others in the field. Information about Fellowships can be found on the Society website, and we welcome abstract submissions from young scientists.
We are extremely happy to invite you to attend the EAS 2021 Congress on May 30-June 2, 2021. We welcome clinicians and basic researchers studying atherosclerosis and related vascular disease to present their findings to the international scientific community. You are sure to gain new friends, new ideas, and inspiration to take your studies of atherosclerosis and related vascular disease to new levels!
